On March 18th 2019 I went to London with college on a trip to visit the Don Mccullin Exhibition at the Tate Britain, while also getting the chance to look around the Tate Britain collection as well as a quick trip to the Tate modern as well. Also I visited the Hayward gallery to see Diane Arbus 'in the beginning' exhibition. As it was a day trip it was a lot to take in in such a short amount of time but I found it really beneficially to see the photographs in the flesh and also look at how artists and photographers present their work. In the Diane Arbus expedition we weren't allowed to photograph, however in the Don Mccullin show we were and I found it really helpful for thinking about how I was going to progress my work after I had returned from my trip. I loved how his photographs looked timeless and how within the exhibition there were parts of memorabilia such as old cameras. Although the themes of both photographers work weren't particularly fitting with my current project it was really inspirational to see new work and brought up new ideas for future projects. It also made me think about the techniques I am using within my own work and how I should try exploring more with mixed media and possibly some colour film in the future.
